Modified Dimethylsilicone. The basic molecular structure of polydimethylsiloxane is changed by the addition of varying amounts of polyoxyethylene and/or polyoxypropylene, which significantly changes the properties. Silicone Glycol enables the user to utilize many of the features of dimethyl silicones while at the same time coupling that with surfactant-like properties. Silicone Glycol can be water or oil soluble, good foamers or defoamers, good wetters or good surface conditioners and can also be used as emulsifiers.
